Reading Response
For my free choice summer reading I read Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon and Fahrenheit 451. Today I will be responding to Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon. This book is about an elite military group in Afghanistan who's primary objective is to eliminate/capture the leader of the Taliban Terrorist organization. When I was looking for a book to read I was looking for another Tom Clancy book because I had recently read Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six. I picked this particular book because it was recommended to me by my cousin who also enjoys Tom Clancy.
I enjoyed this book because I enjoy realistic fiction and am interested in modern warfare. This book and most of Tom Clancy's other novels are both of these. What I found interesting about this book was that it showed the reader the amount of careful planning goes in to one of these operations. It also showed the reader the amount of stress and tension solders go through. In general it showed the reader how difficult and hard being a solder is. I believe everyone should read at least on of these types of books. It doesn't necessarily have to written by Tom Clancy it should just be a realistic war novel because it gives an appreciation for solders and an understanding of what they go through to keep us safe.
