Fahrenheit 451 Response

     For my second summer reading choice book I read Fahrenheit 451 I chose this book because it was recommended to me by my mother. This book takes place in a dystopian futuristic urban society. The main character is a fireman named Guy Montag. In this book all books are illegal and if you have one you are a criminal. The fireman's job is to burn the books. Since houses are fire proof all they do is receive a tip and show up on your doorstep with flamethrowers.

     Guy Montag is one of these firemen and has been all his adult life. After he meets a 17 year old girl named Clarisse McClellan who helps him realize how messed up modern society is. Clarisse told Guy that a long time ago firemen actually put the fires out not started them. Clarisse helps Guy realize that he is not happy with his life, and that books are important and he loves them. Since books are illegal and Guy's job is to get ride of them this makes for a very interesting story.

     I chose this prompt because I think listening closely to lyrics can either make or break a song. This message and what the artist is saying or describing is the most important thing about a song. If the artist is just describing a meaningless event or simply just talking to rhyme words that is pointless and boring. Strengths and Weaknesses

Some of my strengths are my ability to add vivid detail at times when I feel necessary. This can help with almost all types of writing. In personal narratives it helps the reader feel like they are witnessing the event. In literary analysis I can describe the effect something has on the story very well. In research papers I can describe events and the effects of the events in great detail. Some of my weaknesses are not being able to understand the deeper meaning in certain things. Sometimes I can understand the deeper meaning in things just fine but other times I just think we are over analyzing it and there is nothing deep at all. But I can work on this by continuing to make connections and relate things with deeper meanings to modern day and things I understand so I understand them.

Summer Story

     During my summer my family and few other friends went to Lake Conroe, Texas for an end of the summer get away. While we were there we did many lake activities such as fishing off the dock, canoeing, swimming, and we rented a boat. Today I'm going to talk about our boat rental experience. We rented a pontoon boat which was advertised as a performance package. We picked this package because we decided we would go tubing. When the boat first got back to the house the young children got to go first. When they got back they told us the boat was a little slow, but we did not care because we still got to go tubing. The boat was extremely slow, but none the less the tubing was fun.
