Personal Narritive Update

I think my personal narrative is going really well I have completed the rough draft and got it turned in on time. I had no problem getting to the required length. So far my biggest struggle has been putting commas in the appropriate place and fixing run-on sentences, but that has always been a problem with my writing. However, I have realized how great of a tool Grammarly is and plan on using it on every paper I do in high school. I have not yet visited the writing center and plan on visiting it to get help revising my rough draft.

If anyone has any tips on how to identify comma splices and run-on sentences those would be greatly appreciated. Other than those issues I think my paper is going great. I just have to get it turned in on time and make sure everything is spelled right and I should get a good grade. I have never been an excellent student when it comes to English but I think I write an okay essay.

Strengths and Weaknesses

Some of my strengths are my ability to add vivid detail at times when I feel necessary. This can help with almost all types of writing. In personal narratives it helps the reader feel like they are witnessing the event. In literary analysis I can describe the effect something has on the story very well. In research papers I can describe events and the effects of the events in great detail. Some of my weaknesses are not being able to understand the deeper meaning in certain things. Sometimes I can understand the deeper meaning in things just fine but other times I just think we are over analyzing it and there is nothing deep at all. But I can work on this by continuing to make connections and relate things with deeper meanings to modern day and things I understand so I understand them.

Summer Story

     During my summer my family and few other friends went to Lake Conroe, Texas for an end of the summer get away. While we were there we did many lake activities such as fishing off the dock, canoeing, swimming, and we rented a boat. Today I'm going to talk about our boat rental experience. We rented a pontoon boat which was advertised as a performance package. We picked this package because we decided we would go tubing. When the boat first got back to the house the young children got to go first. When they got back they told us the boat was a little slow, but we did not care because we still got to go tubing.
